Now, we mentioned 15 playable characters. Nine of them are the Straw Hats – Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, and Brook. The other 6 characters to be playable straight off the Kaizoku Musou disc without download are Vivi, Ace, Whitebeard, Crocodile, Jinbe and Bon Clay. The rumor (yes, we at Saiyan Island can’t stress it enough) has it that these characters will be playable only after the time they show up in the anime/manga. In other words, in the game the One Piece story starts with Luffy, so he is the first playable character. Then he travels and meets Zoro at the Marine Base. From that point on Zoro is playable. Next Luffy meets Nami, and then so on and so forth is how characters are unlocked in the game.

The same thing goes for abilities. For example, Luffy can’t use Gear 2nd until he gets to the Water 7 and fights with Blueno. He can’t consciously use Haki until after the timeskip. Additionally, the rumor says that One Piece: Kaizoku Musou will allow players to customize their characters.
